On March 11, 2011, there was a devastating earthquake and Tsunami that hit my beloved Japan. To think, I was there just five months ago in Tokyo and had no idea a natural disaster was coming. It still hits home that you just never know.
On a more positive note, it is amazing to see the world pulling together to help Japan. While it’s uncomprehensible what they must be going through, I am really proud of the major airlines and the Red Cross organization for coming together on this movement to help raise funds for Japan.
Here are some quick ways you can help and earn mileage.
Continental Airlines – Give from $50-$99 to earn a generous one time 250 bonus miles to your OnePass account. Donations over $100 will get 500 miles added to your account! Donate to Japan now!
United Airlines – Same goes for United. Remember to donate before April 30, 2011 to get up to 500 bonus miles!
Delta Airlines – While they are old-school and make you do a little more work, they are just offering you the possibility to donate your miles by calling their SkyMiles OneSource Automated Telephone System at 1-800-325-3999. Have your SkyMiles account number and PIN available when calling. To donate miles by mail, e-mail or fax, please prepare your request in writing making sure to include the following information:
* Your SkyMiles account number
* The number of miles you wish to donate
* The name of the organization you want to receive your donation (i.e. RED CROSS)
American Airlines – Get up to 500 AAdvantage Bonus Miles with donations of $100 or more, or you can opt to give from $50-$99 to get 250 bonus miles as a token of your generosity.
Even if these deals end, it still feels good to help and know that it could get you closer to getting to your next destination.

Happy Donating!
I’m impressed, I must say. Actually hardly ever do I encounter a blog that’s both educative and entertaining, and let me let you know, you’ve got hit the nail on the head. Your concept is outstanding; the issue is something that not enough persons are speaking intelligently about. I am very completely happy that I stumbled throughout this in my search for one thing referring to this.
