For the past two months, the Bridge of Sighs in Venice can finally be seen again. It had been undergoing renovations for nearly three years and the advertisements covered the area being worked on. You basically could see bright blue wall ads covering the right wall of the Doge’s Palace and the left side of the new prisons. It was a total eyesore to see these brightly colored huge ads covering the walls compared to the standard coverings which just mimic the actual wall exteriors. While this may have given the city of Venice some added money (for the advertisements), it is so nice to finally see the Ponte dei Sospiri (Bridge of Sighs) again.
The Venetian legend is that if you kiss underneath the bridge, that will bind the two lovebirds for an ever-lasting love.
